PARENT TRAINING ACTIVITIES

Several lectures are arranged to guide the parents regarding newer therapies, Newer approaches towards dealing with autism and other developmental ,behavioral or educational issues.

  • 1. parent guidance workshops held in 2015 hosted by Mr.Suresh Kad and Mrs.Geetanjali Tambe regarding behavioral management.
  • 2. Parent guidance workshops held in 2016 regarding visual strategies and developing independent daily life skills.
  • 3. Mrs.Medha Pujari a graphic designer and a special educator from Pune spoke on use of technology in autism and its use for personal enhancement and vocational opportunities. she spoke extensively on the use of iPads and computers to that purpose.
  • 4. Eminent speech therapist Gauri Atre spoke to parents about application of practical application of speech therapy in daily lives of children.
  • 5. Dr.Vaijayanti Ingawale , an experienced pediatrician spoke on Growing up issues ,puberty and nutrition to the parents of young boys and girls.
  • 6. Mrs.Manisha Silam talked about Flower remedies their principles and their uses in enhancing health for the parents as well as their children.
  • 7. Dr.Mitali.S. Vaidya hosted a talk on RDI .relation development intervention. shedding light on guided participation, mindful parenting, and empowering the parents in their rightful role as a primary guide to their children.
  • 8. Dr.Aparna Nagda talked about the various advantages of homeopathy in autism as well as general Health of children. Ms.Prachi conducted a talk on Anger Management in adults with autism as well as in parents.
  • 9. Mr.Vishal Kadam educated the parents about the benefits of Niramaya health insurance scheme. Several parents registered for the national scheme on that day

STUDENT CENTERED WORKSHOPS

Time and again we hold workshops for the children of all age groups training them in different skills and fields. These workshops are useful to give the students and their parents insight into various therapies and skills as well as are an opportunity to come together and bond as they learn something new.

  • 1. the first workshop held by the foundation was about chocolates and Gift Box Decoration workshop By Mrs.Manisha Silam and Mrs.Deepa Gosavi. Enthusiastic participation by all the kids and reinforced paved the way of a series of more workshops to.
  • 2. 2 day workshop in Jidda School.where students were taught to make paper bags, Block printing.It also included a music and dance session as well as painting activities.
  • 3. screen printing workshop taught students to print logos on envelopes, and T-shirts.
  • 4. Cookies and Muffins workshop by Mrs.Deepa Uplap had our young students donning their chef hats and bake fluffy cakes and delicious cookies
  • 5. Summer Camp 2016 held for Seniors had workshops teaching them cupcake decoration, artificial jewelry , torans ,and rakhis made out of quilling
  • 6. Summer camp 2016 held for Juniors had sessions revolving around different concepts and involved sensory activities, hand eye coordination, art and craft and motor skills.
  • 7. Yoga workshop held by Ms.Chitra Pandhi. saw our students try out different yogasanas under her guidance and support of their parents
  • 8.Jude Sir took a music workshop demonstrating the use of octo pad
  • 9. Dance and music Therapy had the children put their best forward as Manjiri date Madam led us through a highly energetic dance and movement session
  • 10. Art and craft workshop for the junior kids was conducted by Mrs.Madhura Tendulkar which let each one explore art in their own way and enjoy it to the fullest.
  • 11. Group Sports classes were conducted at a TMC garden.so that children could get the benefit of outdoor play and in the process also enhance their social skills,teamspirit as well as motor skills.
  • 12. Sports Ignite an organization dedicated to sports coaching held a sports session for junior and senior kids of Rajhanse Foundation at Singhania School.The coaches were happy to see the interest the children took in the coaches and got a deeper insight into their challenges too.
  • 13. We arranged a play session at Enjoy-A-Ball at Mulund. for kids under 12 yrs.It was a fun filled and action packed event with the kids trying a hand at various ball games with their parents.
  • 14. Pottery workshop was held in dec 2017 by Mrs.Manjusha Bagal .students enjoyed making pen stands with the clay…which were then baked and returned to them.it was a very satisfying workshop from sensory and createve point of view.
  • 15. in Jan 2018 Yet another artist Mrs.Rashmi Vira guided our students through the entire procedure of block printing…it was Wonderfull to see them print batwas and tote bags which they could then take home with them.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

AWARENESS ACTIVITIES

  • 1. As the children on the spectrum have difficulty in communication , we suggested for their data to be in the police records to be used whenever required, and accordingly with the support of the Child Protection unit , crime Branch ,Thane visited several special schools in thane to collect the Data. we have also initiated collection of the data of each individual on the spectrum in our city
  • 2. On the occasion of World Autism Day 2nd April we had also arranged a rally with the support of Child Protection Unit, Crime Branch, Thane. They provided us with a beautifully decorated bus in which we took all the children for a ride through the city , with our banner outside creating awareness about autism in the city . The rally ended in the police station as per the wishes of joint Police Commissioner Mr. P.V.Lakshminarayan who came down to interact with the children, distributed chocolates, felicitated us, and inspired to do more.
  • 3. To highlight the talents of our children and Adults with autism.we held a funfare where our students put up stalls of the things that they had Made.with some help from their supervising Parents.the funfair was attended by many people .it was an eye opener for them as to what these young boys and girls can do as well as it boosted the confidence of our young buddies to see people appreciating and buying their goods
  • 4. 2nd April 2017 world autism awareness day .we celebrated by taking all our children for a boat ride in a special boat ornamented with blue and white balloons in the busy and popular Kachrali lake after which we walked around the lake with boards containing awarenesss about autism in our Hands
  • 5. representations at various exhibitions helps to spread the word about the various talents and abilities of our adults with autism studying at our vocational center some of the prominent exhibitions where Rajhanse Foundation made its mark were

  • 6. To Rajhanse Ek.a musical event of song and dance by the children and adults on the spectrum as well as their parents was held at Kashinath Ghanekar Auditorium on a very huge scale.It sent a clear message about the hidden talents and the fact that just like any other children.children with autism too liked to have fun and enjoy as well as had the capacity to entertain others too.
  • 7. Rajhanse Foundation in collaboration Saavi Foundation with organized the presentation of the play.’Apoorva Meghdoot “ a play enacted by visually challenged Actors.with the motive of highlighting the talents of some who are dealing with a different set of disability too.the play was conducted at Kashinath Ghanekar Auditorium and was immensely appreciated.
  • 8. in November 2017 we arranged a trip to Kidzania for the children below 12 years and their families.The kids as well as their parents enjoyed the several role playing activities thoroughly and were enriched by the new experiences. We were glad to give the parents the confidence that our children too could be have a great time at kidzania like all other kids.
  • 9. Christmas and the end of the year 2017 was celebrated in a grand way at the the year end party of Rajhanse Foundation with Christmas tree,games, music ,cake and delicacies. this year too Santa Claus put a smile to each face with his warmth and gifts
  • 10. we took the children and their families for an overnight stay to Nagaon beach resort. It was a whole new experience of fun and bonding between the families.the camaraderie seen amongst the children was exhilarating.
